I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.
Former twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
