Even though entering their first-ever European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the last 16, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This match provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season proved no match even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.
Midfielder Adam Wharton went close soon after, driving a powerful effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently claimed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the official dismissed the appeals.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
